Local and Regional Trade Shows are a Good Investment

Local and regional trade shows offer a platform for businesses and professionals to exchange ideas, showcase innovations and network. In recent years, these shows have also added an education element. Trade shows that incorporate educational components stand out for their added value.

Attending these shows is about browsing exhibits and gaining knowledge that can advance your career or business. This past week, I attended Glass Expo West™ (GEW) 2025 in Ontario, California. Half the event was dedicated to educational seminars, many of which offer certificates of attendance.

While at GEW, I hosted a seminar on heavy glass handrails with FHC’s technical handrail specialist, Jose Quinones, our architectural railing brand manager. Quinones has over 21 years of experience in the glass industry. In addition to our session, the event’s seminars covered subjects ranging from the economy and industry’s best practices to building codes and new industry innovations.

Additionally, top industry manufacturers send experts and the latest products to regional events. While the booths might be smaller, the expertise is the same. The other advantage is that attendees don’t have to travel as far as they offer a relatively budget-friendly opportunity to bring your entire staff.

Keeping up with industry innovations, building codes and proper insulation methods can give your business an advantage in your market. It is essential to emphasize continuing education with all your employees. This can give you a competitive edge and be a team-building event for your employees.

Many regional events are coming up this year. For shows in your area, check the USGlass magazine calendar of events. Most of your suppliers will post them on their websites.
